The Croquet Section of the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) was formed in 2001 when the Glenferrie Hill Recreation club members voted to become part of the MCC Sporting Sections. The Club is one of 14 Sporting Sections of the MCC. We use the MCC colours of blue, red and white.
Club membership is not restricted to MCC members;
it is open to all with an inclusive and welcoming culture.
We welcome visiting players — please

Croquet was first played as a social sport by MCC members and their guests in "ladies enclosure" at the MCG in the mid-1870's.
The Glenferrie Hill Recreation Club was formed in 1908, the croquet players were wives and daughters of the bowling members. There have been many outstanding members over the years and the rich history of the club has been preserved and celebrated by all of its members.
The Glenferrie Hill Club started as a club for families and this tradition has continues with many husbands and wives playing both Croquet and Bowls at the Club.
